Our Heavenly Father

Our Heavenly Father

As we consider Father’s Day, I want to take this opportunity to give thanks and praise to our Heavenly Father for caring and loving each of us with open arms.

Personal prayer time with our Father is precious. One-on-one with our Father enables us to pour our hearts out to Him; to lay it all at His feet. He cares about the smallest details and He cares about the overwhelming situations in our lives and He cares about everything in between. God wants to be the yearning of our hearts.

Jesus gave us the greatest prayer of all to connect to our source.

“In this manner, therefore, Pray: Our Father who art in heaven Hallowed be thy name”

Acknowledging God as our Father, gives Him the place of authority in our lives. We are children of The King that makes each of us someone special.

“Thy kingdom come, thy will be done On earth as it is in heaven.”

In our Father we find hope. Obedience to His will is not always easy, often it is the road less traveled. It takes faith and it takes trust, His way leads to eternal life.

“Give us this day our daily bread.”

The lily takes no thought and is glorious in its array. If God provides for the Lily, how much more will He will provide for His children? Worry and fear are exactly what satan intends to boldly bring into our lives. Our Father tells us time and time again to have no fear. He knows our needs before we can even get the words out before Him.

“And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us”

Guilt and/or unforgiveness hinder the work of God in our lives. When we hang on to guilt or unforgiveness we drag that pain into the present, and embrace the hurt and anger instead of Christ. Ask for forgiveness. Seek God for the strength to forgive. God’s love in our lives enables us to develop love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and gentleness, yes, even self-control.

“For thine is the kingdom, the power and glory, forever. Amen"

This model prayer takes a leap of faith and invites God to be Lord of our lives.

Based on the Lord’s Prayer … found in the sixth chapter of Matthew. NKJV
